Matters Arising from the March Meeting
The position relating to Tesco car park drainage channels has been referred to the District Council who confirm that they own the car park but it is Tesco's responsibility to maintain the drainage channels.

 Correspondence
 1. Confirmation of our membership to Civic Voice and receipt of some promotional ideas that the officers will discuss.
 2. Heritage Lincs Open Days booklet received.
 3. Invitation to participate in the Lincolnshire Day at Horncastle College received.
4. Quotation received and accepted for finishing our horse statues.

Treasurers Report
Our accounts are still healthy despite a lot of recent expenditure.

Planning Applications
Numerous planning applications were discussed at length and decisions made re our policy.

Projects
  • Horse Statues - The quotes we have received are higher than anticipated so the Chairman will try to get more funding from the Town Council and ask them to accept ownership and apply for a licence from Highways.
  • September History Days exhibitions - An updated list of exhibitors was discussed and the publicity and other preparatory work needed.
  • St Mary's scythes - Two ancient scythes were on display and different means of dating them were discussed in an effort to establish if they were used in  the Lincolnshire Uprising or the Civil War.
History Group
The Chairman will try to raise awareness of this newly formed group through articles in the local newspapers.

Any Other Business
The large numbers and locations of map dispensers in town were criticized. The maps were santioned by the District Council who no doubt gave permission for the dispensers.
